Social program
Welcome party
All participants and their accompanying persons are invited to take part in the Welcome Party on
Tuesday, September 7 from 18:00 till 20:00 at restaurant
Nebozízek. There will be a light banquet with free beer, wine, juice, and water
(other beverages like coffee or 18 years old single malt scotch are to be paid by participants extra).
The restaurant is a good, though not particulary cheap, place for dinner after the party. However, we cannot guarantee that there will be any free tables.
You can find some reviews here or here and ask the organizers to make reservation
if you find this option attractive.
There are three possible routes depicted on the map above:
- The most convenient green (dashed) line: take any tram from the station right in front of the venue going in the right direction (right as `correct' but also in the sense of direction)
and go to the station Újezd (just two stops away, the one in between is called Hellichova). There go to the funicular station (climb few stairs you see across the street in front of you when you leave the tram and on the right you should see the station) , and take the funicular to its first stop Nebozízek. When you leave the funicular you will see the restaurant in front of you (to reach it you need to descend and then ascend few stairs). A 26 CZK ticket is good for both legs of the journey, which should take less than 30 minutes.
- The longest red (solid) line: this route will take 30-40 minutes of walking, first 15 minutes slightly uphill. We recommend to take this route only to those accompanied by somebody local. One of the organizers will take this route, the group will leave at 17:30 from the main entrance of the venue.
- The hardest and quickest orange (dotted) line: you can walk along the tram lines, till the station Hellichova in the opposite direction (you will pass Hellichova in your direction some minutes before, next to the Church of Holy Child of Prague). Then you turn right and walk uphill (very steep!) trying to follow the indicated route. This could be complicated as there are many crossing paths. However, as the problem space is finite (bounded by funicular line on one side and a fortification wall on the other side), sooner or later you should arrive to the restaurant. This route is recommended for brave and physically fit participants only and no local organizer will probably take it.
Banquet
The conference banquet for all registered participants will be held on Friday, September 10 from 19:00 at Villa
Lanna, V Sadech 1, Prague 6. Extra tickets for banquet for accompanying persons can be bought for 30 EUR.
To reach Villa Lanna, just arrive to the subway station Hradčanská, on the green A line and then follow the route depicted on the map:
